Job Type: Ongoing with an opportunity for permanent for the right candidate
The role:
- Sorted and organised incoming parcels, freight, and large household appliances accurately and efficiently according to designated routes and destinations.
- Safely handled, moved, and lifted heavy white goods, including refrigerators, washing machines, cookers, and other large appliances, in accordance with manual handling procedures.
- Operated conveyor belts, handheld scanners, pallet trucks, and other warehouse equipment to support the efficient movement and sorting of goods.
- Ensured accurate labelling, scanning, and categorisation of parcels and bulky items to minimise errors and maintain operational efficiency.
- Assisted with the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles, securing freight and maximising vehicle space utilisation for safe transportation.
- Worked collaboratively with colleagues to maintain productivity, meet operational targets, and ensure the timely dispatch of goods.
- Identified damaged parcels or appliances and followed established procedures for reporting, documentation, and safe handling.
- Maintained a clean, organised, and safe working environment while adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Followed company policies, security procedures, and manual handling guidelines within a fast-paced warehouse and distribution setting.
- Demonstrated physical fitness, reliability, and attention to detail while handling high volumes of parcels and heavy goods throughout each shift.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in warehouse, logistics, or parcel sorting is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and lift packages of varying weights.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate sorting and labelling of parcels.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility to work night shifts and occasional overtime as needed.
- Reliable transportation to and from the warehouse location.
