The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our industry-leading parcel courier client based in Barnsley (S74). We are looking for reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operatives/Parcel Sorters to join the team on an ongoing basis, with permanent opportunities available for the right candidates.
Shift Patterns
- 6:00am – 2:00pm
- 2:00pm – 10:00pm
- 10:00pm – 6:00am
Pay Rate
From £12.71 per hour

The Role
As a Parcel Sorter, you will play a key role in ensuring parcels are processed accurately and efficiently for delivery. Duties include:
- Sorting and organising incoming parcels according to designated routes and destinations.
- Operating conveyor belts, scanners and other warehouse equipment.
- Ensuring parcels are correctly labelled and processed to minimise delivery errors.
- Working closely with colleagues to maintain an efficient workflow and meet operational deadlines.
- Identifying damaged parcels and following company procedures for reporting and handling.
- Loading and unloading delivery vehicles while maximising space utilisation.
- Keeping the warehouse clean, tidy and safe at all times.
- Following all company health & safety and security procedures.
Requirements
- Previous warehouse, logistics or parcel sorting experience is beneficial but not essential.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift parcels of varying weights.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced warehouse environment.
- A positive attitude with the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work overtime when required.
- Reliable transport to and from the site is preferred.
