We’re proud to be working in partnership with a trusted provider to recruit a Registered Manager for a brand-new children’s residential home in Rochdale. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to lead the development of a new service from scratch — with full backing from an experienced and supportive senior leadership team.
About the Role:
As the Registered Manager, you will:
- Take the lead in setting up the new home, including preparing it for Ofsted registration and building your own dedicated staff team.
- Work closely with the Responsible Individual and Directors to ensure the home meets all regulatory and quality standards from day one.
- Provide strong leadership and day-to-day management of the service, supporting children and young people through high-quality, child-centred care.
- Oversee staffing, safeguarding, care planning, compliance, and reporting — ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
- Play a key role in multi-agency partnerships, building positive relationships with professionals, families, and local authorities.
- Be part of the on-call support rota to provide guidance outside core hours as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Ofsted registration process and become the Registered Manager.
- Recruit, supervise, and develop a high-performing care team.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards (2015).
- Deliver high standards of care tailored to each child’s individual needs and plans.
- Take part in recruitment, training, appraisals, and performance management.
- Support with Regulation 44 and Regulation 45 reporting and inspections.
- Manage the home’s budget, rota, and administrative processes.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- Minimum 1 year of managerial experience in a children’s residential setting
- QCF Level 3/4 in Children and Young People (CYP) – or equivalent
- Willingness to undertake QCF Level 5 in Leadership and Management (if not already held)
- Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and Quality Standards
- Full UK driving licence
- Flexible and committed to meeting the needs of the home
Desirable:
- Knowledge of attachment theory and trauma-informed care
- Experience managing budgets
- Understanding of the referral and placement process
- Previous involvement in Ofsted inspections
